Ideas That Work

     Automated Registration !!!    http://www.iacusn.org/acrs/
Make Registration easy for the pilots and for yourself!
By using the registration system that is already in place, pilots can fill in their information once and sign up for multiple contests.  They enter all of the information required at a contest and the registrar can download to their computer or print it out for the pilot folders.
When the competitor arrives all of their paperwork is ready and they don't have to fill out anything and only sign on the dotted line and make their payment for the entry fee and any other fees being collected such as the banquet ticket.
The registration system also has the capability of allowing the entrant to chose to make their payment online when they register if your chapter has a PayPal account.

In addition to the provided forms the IAC Rulebook is an excellent source of information for Registrars.
This is a very large file and may take a couple of minutes to download. CLICK HERE (2012)
When you are looking at the rulebook, the best pages for Registrars will be;
     Chapter 1. Page 1-6  Registrar Job description
     Chapter 4. Page 4-3 Determing Order of Flight
     Chapter 4. Page 4-7 Official Wind Direction
     Appendix 7: Page A7-1 to A7-5  Example Forms
However, to get a better understanding of a contest and how it flows and when paperwork from the Registrar might be expected to be needed, it is a good plan to read as much of Chapter 3 Administration of the Contest.  In addition, many Registrars are also saddled with the need to assist or be the Scoring director, so it is recommended that Chapter 7 page 7-7 be read.

The Registrar works very closely with the Scoring Director and the Volunteer Coordinator at most Regional Contests.  You may not know everything that each position does, but it is a good idea to make yourself familiar with each.
